Slovak National Council Legislative Process Oversight & Management

The LPMS is a comprehensive information system consisting of over 60 interconnected workflow software modules. It supports the activities of the National Council of the Slovak Republic in the areas of legislation, the creation and oversight of statutory bodies, as well as domestic and foreign policy. The system records and provides both current and historical data on public institutions, officials, legislative processes, and related documents. It allows subscription to documents, tracks statutory deadlines via email notifications, and offers web services for external systems.

CHALLENGE

The Office of the NC SR needed to efficiently support legislative processes in compliance with the Constitution of the Slovak Republic, the Rules of Procedure Act, and other legal standards. Ensuring transparency and public access to information as required by the Freedom of Information Act was crucial.

SOLUTION

The implementation of LPMS delivered:

  • Computerized process support: Automation and support for legislative processes in line with legal requirements.
  • Public access to information: Provision of current and historical data via a multilingual web portal without the need for webmaster intervention.
  • Automated notifications: Tracking statutory deadlines and sending email alerts.
