After separating from Slovak Telekom, STRABAG PFS needed to build its own IT infrastructure without disrupting operations.
Fores Technology Group designed and implemented a solution based on Microsoft Office 365 and On-Premise Active Directory.
The migration was completed without downtime, while reducing costs, improving communication, and enabling secure mobile access.
STRABAG Property and Facility Services was established through the outsourcing of part of Slovak Telekom and, for the duration of the service contract, relied on its IT infrastructure. When the contract expired in 2012, it became necessary to build an independent IT environment. The main requirements included creating and deploying the new IT infrastructure without interrupting operations, minimizing investment and operational costs, reducing expenses for licenses and administration, ensuring secure access to data and services from the internet and mobile devices, improving communication between employees and branches, and migrating user accounts and email mailboxes to the new environment.
Fores Technology Group proposed Microsoft Office 365, which was just being introduced to the Slovak market at that time, as the optimal solution. Thanks to previous international experience, the implementation could be carried out quickly and reliably. The migration and deployment took place in several stages, starting with the creation of a new On-Premise Active Directory domain at the STRABAG PFS headquarters.
This was followed by the implementation of an Active Directory Federation Services Farm to enable Single Sign-On from the internal network, as well as the deployment of an ADFS Proxy server for Single Sign-On access from the internet. Microsoft Office 365 was then configured, and directory synchronization was set up. Users were migrated to the On-Premise Active Directory and subsequently synchronized with Office 365, after which email mailboxes were created in Microsoft Exchange Online.
The process continued with the migration of computers, servers, and printers into the new domain, along with transferring the content of existing email mailboxes to Microsoft Exchange Online. The entire process was carried out during full company operations, with the background migration ensuring a seamless transition without any downtime, something that would not have been possible in the original environment.

The right of access to personal data under Article 15 GDPR:
The data subject shall have the right to obtain confirmation that the controller processes personal data concerning him or her. The data subject has the right to obtain access to his or her personal data (the right to be provided with a copy of the personal data held by the controller about the data subject) and information about how the controller processes it, to the extent provided for in Article 15 of the GDPR.
The right to rectification of personal data pursuant to Article 16 GDPR:
The data subject shall have the right to have personal data concerning him or her rectified if it is incorrect or to have it completed if it is incomplete.
The right to erasure (right to be forgotten) under Article 17 of the GDPR:
The data subject shall have the right to obtain from the controller the erasure of personal data concerning him or her without undue delay, under the conditions set out in Article 17 of the GDPR. This right of the data subject shall be assessed by the controller in the light of all the relevant circumstances in accordance with Article 17 GDPR.
The right to data portability under Article 20 GDPR:
Where the processing is based on consent or on a contract and is carried out by automated means, the data subject shall have the right to obtain his or her personal data which he or she has provided to the controller in a structured, commonly used and machine-readable format and shall have the right to transmit those data to another controller. As far as technically feasible, he or she shall have the right to have the data transmitted directly from one controller to another.
The right to restrict the processing of personal data pursuant to Article 18 GDPR:
The data subject shall have the right to have the controller restrict the processing of his or her personal data if one of the cases referred to in Article 18 of the GDPR occurs (e.g. if the data subject contests the accuracy of the personal data during the period for verifying their accuracy).
